Graduated from St Mary’s hospital in 1986 and gained his Diploma in Sports Medicine from London University in 1992.

Having completed his Primary Care training in the UK, he worked as a Sports Physician in Wellington, New Zealand from 1994-6.

Returning to the UK he was a lecturer in Sports Medicine at the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham in 1997.

From 1998-2001 he was team physician to Fulham Football club, medical officer to the English Basketball Association and a part-time principal in General Practice.

In 2001 he joined the Rugby Football Union as their Head of Sports Medicine. He was the team physician during the Rugby World Cup campaigns in 2003 and 2007.

He has offered a private Sport and Exercise Medicine service in SW London since 1999 focussing on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries and musculoskeletal problems.

He enjoys seeing patients across the age range and of all abilities. Patients range from the aspiring elite athlete to the recreational golfer or tennis player; from the exercising city worker to the more sedentary PC based worker; from the highly active teenager to retiree.

He is a the Honorary Secretary, a Council member and an Appraiser and Examiner for the Faculty of Sports Medicine.

He played rugby in his 20’s, tennis in his 30’s and perhaps prompted by a seemingly inexorable weight gain has become an increasingly obsessive cyclist completing L’Etape du tour in 2009/10/11 & 12.

Sport and Exercise Medicine became a speciality when London was awarded the 2012 games and he was admitted to the GMC Specialist register in Sport and Exercise Medicine in 2010.

He worked as a Sports Medicine Doctor at the London 2012 games.
