Sports knee surgery (meniscal, ligament and patellofemoral disorders). Knee replacement surgery (partial and total). Cemented and uncemented hip replacement .
Charles Gibbons graduated from The London Hospital Medical College in Whitechapel in 1989. Basic surgical training was at The London Hospital, Bath Royal United and Stanmore. He obtained FRCS (England and Ireland) in 1993. He underwent specialised orthopaedic training on The Chelsea and Westminster rotation gaining FRCS (Orth) in 1999.
He continued fellowship training in Australia in 2000 with six months in knee surgery at The Austin and Repatriation Hospital (Melbourne) and six months in adult reconstruction surgery at The Royal Adelaide Hospital.
He has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital since 2002 and lives locally to New Victoria Hospital. His main area of interest includes all forms of arthroscopic knee surgery knee and hip replacement. He has a special area of interest in arthroscopic ligament reconstruction and partial knee replacement surgery.
He has been a faculty member of arthroscopic surgery knee courses (Cheltenham, Stanmore and Kingston Hospitals) and is a workshop faculty member on the Oxford partial knee course. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Association of Knee Surgery.
