Mr Kavin Andi is a Consultant Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgeon holding dual qualifications in medicine (2004) and dentistry (1999). Based at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London Mr Andi is also a core member of the Skin Malignancy Unit based at Croydon University Hospital NHS Trust, Surrey.
His specialist areas of interest are in Head & Neck Oncology and Microvascular Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery for which he was ranked first in the United Kingdom by the Joint Committee for Higher Surgical Fellowship Training in Head & Neck Oncology.
Mr Andi is currently the President of the Institute of Reconstructive Sciences having been elected as a result of his contributions to surgical technology, facial reconstruction and advanced 3D imaging. He also holds an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer post at St George’s Medical School, University of London where he leads research in the Maxillo-Facial unit.
He has published and lectured nationally, internationally and contributed to a number of book chapters as well as authoring software on multiple platforms. Mr Andi is responsible for the educational supervision of higher surgical trainees and sits as a Faculty Member in the London Deanery School of Maxillo-Facial Surgery as well as editor of the International Journal of Stomatology, Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgery.
In 2016 he was selected by St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Clinical Excellence Awards Committee in recognition for performance ‘over and above’ the standards expected in delivering a high quality service; developing a high quality service; managing a high quality service; research; teaching and training.
Mr Andi is also the past recipient of the J.N. Kidd Award for Innovation by The Institute of Reconstructive Sciences (2015), the Norman Rowe Clinical Prize awarded by the British Association of Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgeons (2012) and the University of London College Prize in Clinical Dentistry (1998).
