Fetal Wellbeing Scans can be performed at later stages in the pregnancy to assess the foetal wellbeing.

These would involve assessing the foetal growth, amniotic fluid around the baby and blood flow in the umbilical cord as well as in the baby.

This Fetal Wellbeing Scans may be required in a serial manner every 2 - 4 weeks in women who have had previous complications such as pre-eclampsia, growth restriction, diabetes, still birth or for those women who develop a problem in their current pregnancy.

However, this scan can be performed in any pregnancy for reassurance.
