Biography
Mr Ian Hunt is a consultant thoracic surgeon specialised in advanced chest keyhole techniques and treatment of pectus and chest wall problems.
After graduiting from University College London (UCL) Medical School, he completed a minimal access thoracic surgery fellowship in Canada and the USA. He currently leads the cardiothoracic trauma service at St. George's Hospital, regarded as one of Europe's premier major trauma centres.
He lectures at national and international conferences and teaches on many courses. Mr Hunt has published over 120 papers in peer-reviewed journals, written reviews and authored over a dozen book chapters as well as editing a handful of text books.
Mr Hunt was awarded with a medal for best performance in UK FRCS cardiothoracic examinations in 2007, he is a member of the Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons of UK and Ireland
and the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
