Meet Your Private GPs

Dr Catherine Aboud

Having lived most of her life in and around Epsom, Dr Aboud graduated from Cambridge University, where she gained her MA in 1998, and from the Royal Free and University College Medical School in 2001.

She joined the GP training programme in Epsom and completed her GP training in 2007 in a practice in Bookham. She gained the award of Distinction in her GP qualifications (MRCGP).

Dr Aboud began her career in hospital medicine working in a variety of areas including General Medicine and Cardiology (Royal Free Hospital and St Peter’s Hospital), General Surgery and Orthopaedics (Lister Hospital Stevenage), Accident and Emergency Medicine (Monash Medical Centre Melbourne Australia), Infectious Diseases (St Georges Hospital), Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Epsom Hospital) and Paediatrics (Epsom Hospital).

She has a passionate approach to her work and an empathic style, perhaps fostered by an undergraduate degree which had a strong Psychology basis. Dr Aboud believes that listening and good communication should be at the core of patient service. She continues to feel that it is a privilege to work in this very special field.

Particular areas of interest include Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Travel Medicine, however, she is fascinated by all areas of medicine that present in her clinic.

Living locally with her husband and two young children, she loves being a mum and enjoys travelling and hiking, whilst working at New Victoria Hospital as a private GP.
