Ophthalmology Service cessation

After careful consideration, the Executive Management Team at New Victoria Hospital has taken the decision to cease offering Ophthalmology services to patients, effective 1 August 2022.

Following a thorough evaluation of our operational structure, the Hospital has opted to prioritise increasing patient needs for different functional and rehabilitative surgery, including Orthopaedics, Oncoplastic Breast procedures, Gastroenterology, Urology and Gynaecology treatments.

David Marshall, CEO of New Victoria Hospital said, “This was a difficult decision, and I apologise to the local community who rely on the Hospital for their eye health.“

New Victoria Hospital is working alongside the Ophthalmology Consultants and their teams, to ensure the safe transition of care to alternative providers and avoid any treatment disruption for patients.

We would also like to thank all our Ophthalmology Consultants who partnered with us for all these years.
