Dr Kirsty Schmidt is an experienced GP who has worked extensively in the local area at a number of GP practices since 2009, as well as for the extended hours service. She remains involved in teaching allied healthcare professionals in training and sitting on the Local Medical Committee means she can stay up to date with local and national GP issues.
She graduated from The University of Leicester in 2004 and went on to work in Warwick for a year before moving to Surrey where she worked in Paediatrics for several years before completing her GP training at Kingston Hospital. During this time she gained experience in medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, as well as working at the Princess Alice Hospice in Esher.
Dr Schmidt enjoys caring for patients of all ages and getting to know all members of the family to provide them with holistic care. She has a particular interest in paediatrics, especially paediatric allergy.
She is also a trustee for a children’s charity in Tanzania and volunteers with the scouting movement.
She enjoys spending time with her family as well as travelling and reading in her spare time.
