Professor Mohamed "Mo" Imam is a fully trained Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon, specialised in both surgical and non-surgical treatment of the upper limb.
He was awarded multiple distinctive international awards and travelling fellowships. He has completed two Degree level theses including a PhD on the healing of rotator cuff tendons tears and successfully filed patents.
After the completion of his specialist training, he undertook upper limb fellowships at distinguished centres of excellence both in Europe and the US. He is a professor at the University of East London, leading research on the clinical applications of artificial intelligence and machine intelligence in surgery. He is the founder of multiple international initiatives, including the Ortho-Globe initiative and others.
Professor Imam edited a reference book on the clinical applications of stem cells in orthopaedics. He published more than 100 publications including seminal papers, book chapters and patents. He serves as a chief investigator in national and international trials.
Professor Imam can treat all conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
