Biography
Mr Denosshan Sri is a Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon specialising in prostate cancer, kidney cancer and complex robotic urological surgery. His NHS practice is based at St George’s University Hospitals & Kingston Hospital, placing him at the centre of urological cancer care across South West London. He offers clear, evidence-based assessment and treatment for men and women with a wide range of urological concerns, including a raised PSA, blood in the urine (haematuria), urinary symptoms, recurrent urinary tract infections, benign prostate enlargement and suspected urological cancer.
His principal surgical expertise is in nerve-sparing robotic radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer and robotic partial nephrectomy for kidney cancer. He also undertakes robotic radical nephrectomy, adrenal surgery and complex reconstructive procedures for conditions affecting the kidney and ureter. Mr Sri performs approximately 250 robotic procedures each year across prostate cancer, kidney cancer and reconstructive urology, making him one of the highest-volume robotic urological surgeons in the UK.
Mr Sri has expertise in robotic retroperitoneal partial nephrectomy; a kidney-sparing operation performed through the space behind the abdomen. He introduced this approach to South West London, where it is now established as the regional standard for kidney tumours. For men with prostate cancer, Mr Sri provides a comprehensive pathway from raised PSA assessment and diagnosis through to treatment and follow-up. Where surgery is appropriate, he performs robotic radical prostatectomy using tailored nerve-sparing techniques, with careful attention to cancer control, urinary continence and preservation of sexual function. He is also leading the introduction of focal therapy for selected men with localised prostate cancer within South West London, alongside established surgical and non-surgical treatment pathways.
Mr Sri graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2011 with Double First Class Honours and Distinction. He completed his higher specialist training in urology in South London, including advanced training in robotic urology at St George’s Hospital and an RCS-accredited post-CCT fellowship in robotic kidney cancer surgery at Frimley Park Hospital.
He was appointed Consultant Urological Surgeon at St George’s University Hospital in October 2021 and joined Kingston Hospital in 2024. He leads the kidney cancer surgery service for the Southwest London referral network and is Urology Cancer Lead at St George’s. He is also Robotic Steering Group Lead at St George’s and Urological Robotic Surgery Lead at Kingston, where he has played a central role in developing safe, carefully governed robotic services.
Training and service development are central to Mr Sri’s practice. He leads the Royal College of Surgeons-accredited post-CCT robotic urology fellowship at St George’s, training the next generation of robotic surgeons in prostate and kidney cancer surgery, and mentoring consultant colleagues in robotic surgery. In 2026, he received the Silver Cystoscope Award for South London, recognising Trainer of the Year.
He teaches and lectures at regional, national and international meetings on robotic kidney surgery, prostate cancer surgery and minimally invasive techniques. Mr Sri has published peer-reviewed research on kidney, prostate and bladder cancer and robotic reconstruction. He is Principal Investigator at St George’s for the ELLIPSE, PARTIAL and VISP randomised controlled trials, which examine important questions in prostate and kidney cancer surgery.
