Biography
Mr Emeka Oragui is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in the assessment and treatment of hip problems. He has specialist expertise in minimally invasive anterior-approach hip replacement, hip resurfacing, hip arthroscopy, and the treatment of hamstring and other tendon injuries. He also treats complex hip cases and will discuss both surgical and non-surgical options, helping you choose the approach that best fits your goals and lifestyle
Mr Oragui studied medicine at Cambridge University and completed his clinical training at The Royal Free and University College London Medical School. He went on to undertake orthopaedic training in London, followed by advanced fellowships at St George Hospital and Westmead Hospital in Sydney, and at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford – centres known for high-volume, specialist hip care.
Where appropriate, Mr Oragui uses modern techniques designed to support recovery, including the minimally invasive direct anterior approach to hip replacement, which can enable many patients to mobilise sooner. He also has expertise in computer-navigated and robotic-assisted surgery, which can help plan and position implants accurately and tailor surgery to each patient’s anatomy.
Committed to safety and outcomes, Mr Oragui closely audits his results and continually refines his practice. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presents at international meetings to share advances in hip surgery.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Oragui holds an MBA from London Business School and has led healthcare improvement projects. Patients can expect an evidence-based, thoughtful approach focused on clear communication, personalised care, and the highest standards in hip treatment.
