Paediatric Lead (Maternity Cover)

We are looking to recruit a Paediatric Lead to come on board for 12 months to provide maternity cover, stepping in to effectively manage the Paediatric Nursing Service in the Outpatient Department and the inpatient ward of New Victoria Hospital.

Promote high standards of patient centred care and the professional development of staff within the framework of the hospital strategy for paediatrics all while establishing, monitoring and maintaining the professional standards of the Paediatric Nursing Service.

Requirements

Knowledge:

Specialist paediatric knowledge in line with current ongoing changes Accountability with regard to Lead Paediatric Nurse role
Knowledge and experience of audit and research

Experience (depending on position):

Minimum of 5 years post registration paediatric experience.
Evidence of managing teams/individuals.
Ability to demonstrate clinical expertise.

Qualifications:

Registered RSCN/RN Child branch
Formal teaching/mentoring qualification.
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
Paediatric Advanced Life Support/equivalent
Safeguarding Training Level 3

Skills and Aptitude:

Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to demonstrate fluency, clarity and effectiveness at all levels.
Ability to demonstrate a safe and supportive environment for staff
Ability to prioritise workload and delegate effectively.
