Meditech Expanse EMR System to launch on April 1, empowering patients and medical care
New Victoria Hospital is launching MEDITECH Expanse, a new electronic medical record (EMR) system, on April 1, marking an important step forward in patient safety and how we deliver care.
MEDITECH is a leading healthcare technology platform used by hospitals around the world to securely manage patient records and clinical workflows. The Expanse system brings together medical histories, test results, medications, and care plans into one integrated digital record. This enables clinicians to access accurate, up-to-date information quickly, helping support more coordinated and efficient patient care.
Andrew Fairwhether, Chief Executive Officer at New Victoria Hospital adds, "The new system will improve operational processes across the Hospital. With enhanced digital tools and streamlined workflows, staff will be able to document care more efficiently, reduce duplication, and communicate more effectively across departments. Ultimately, these improvements help ensure that patients receive safer, more connected care."
Our teams have been preparing extensively for this transition to ensure a smooth implementation. While we expect the launch to go well, introducing a new system of this scale can occasionally lead to minor delays or adjustments as staff adapt to the new processes.
We want to reassure you that patient care and safety remain our top priority.
We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during the early days of the transition. We are committed to delivering the highest standard of care, and we are confident that MEDITECH Expanse will bring lasting benefits for our patients, clinicians, and wider hospital community.
