Biography

Dr Aimée Brame is a Consultant Physician who has completed specialist training to in Respiratory, General Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine. Her NHS practice is divided between Guys’ & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Brompton Hospital where she works as a Consultant in Respiratory and Intensive Care Medicine.

Dr Brame completed undergraduate training at the University of Birmingham (MBChB, 2001) and postgraduate training in Respiratory and General Medicine in the North West Thames region. She completed Intensive Care training in the London deanery and holds the European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine (EDIC) and Fellowship of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine. 

Dr Brame is on the UK Specialist Register (GMC) in General medicine, Respiratory Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine.

Dr Brame has a PhD in Translational Medicine and Therapeutics from the University of Cambridge and is currently involved in several clinical studies investigating changes in haemodynamics in a range of clinical conditions. She has authored several book chapters and published original papers and abstracts. 

Dr Brame has an extensive knowledge of general medicine and respiratory medicine and her specialist subspeciality interest is in pulmonary vascular disease and breathlessness.

Dr Brame worked throughout the COVID pandemic in the busiest centre in the region, providing acute Intensive care and post COVID assessment and evaluation of hundreds of symptomatic patients. She has extensive practical experience in managing Long-COVID symptoms and will provide a comprehensive diagnosis and management plan.  

She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London, a Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine, Associate Professor at University College,London and Senior Clinical Lecturer at King's College, London.

Dr Brame was the General Medical advisor for BBC2 television series Diagnosis Detectives and regularly writes for the mainstream media. Her articles are available to download via her website.
