Biography
Ms Vasha Kaur is a General and Upper GI surgeon at Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust.
She completed her undergraduate studies at Edinburgh University, where she graduated with Honours, Distinction and Class Prizes. She was among the first in her cohort nationally to complete the MRCS and FRCS surgical examinations.
She received a run-through training number and completed her registrar training in South West London. During this time, she also undertook several fellowships.
Among these was the highly coveted Darzi Fellowship in Healthcare Management as well as a prestigious research Fellowship at Imperial College, where she was awarded a PhD for her research investigating the pathophysiology of pre-diabetes. Her main academic interests are in obesity, metabolic health and digital health technology.
Ms Kaur also has a strong background in education and training and has authored multiple chapters in various post-graduate textbooks.
She is very passionate about fostering collaboration for shared learning, and her dedication to global knowledge exchange has been recognised with two honorary professorships. She is currently the Surgical Lead to Virtual Ward, Clinical Audit, NELA and is the Royal College of Surgeons Surgical Tutor for Kingston and Richmond NHS Trust.
