We are looking for a Deputy Theatre Manager to join our Theatres team and help support the Theatre Manager to continue to provide a high standard of safe patient care during the pre, peri and post-operative phase of a surgical patient’s care within the Hospital.

The Deputy Theatre Manager will be responsible for supporting the Theatre Manager to effect change within the department, to lead on and facilitate projects to ensure the Hospital has an effective, competent and efficient workforce, achieves good theatre utilisation and embraces patient safety and quality initiatives.

 

Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • RGN or ODP
  • Recognised post registration course relevant to Theatres.
  • Degree in Nursing / Healthcare.
  • Teaching and assessing qualification
  • Evidence of CPD
  • First level management course

Skills

  • Good leadership skills.
  • Ability to act as a change agent
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Logical and able to analyse.

Knowledge

  • Substantial level of perioperative knowledge and skills.
  • Knowledge of national guidelines.
  • Good working knowledge of all disciplines of Theatres.
