Dr Markus Gess is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at New Victoria Hospital.
Dr Markus Gess studied medicine at Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, Germany, qualifying in 1999. He trained in gastroenterology, hepatology and general medicine in London and worked in academic hepatitis C research for 3 years. Dr Gess consolidated his specialist interest in liver disease working at the King's College Liver Unit for one year. He holds consultant posts at St George's and Kingston Hospitals where he is lead clinician for upper gastrointestinal cancer and hepatology. Dr Gess' clinical practice involves diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver conditions and he is an experienced endoscopist.
