Biography
Dr. Roy Jogiya is an award-winning Consultant Cardiologist and recognised leader in cardiovascular medicine. He holds consultant posts at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and St Thomas' Hospital.
Dr Jogiya grew up locally and studied at Tiffin School for Boys in Kingston. He specialises in cardiac rhythm management, electrophysiology, and complex pacing, and is trained in all aspects of general cardiology. His clinical expertise includes the management of chest pain, palpitations, breathlessness, dizziness, blackouts, and ankle swelling. He has a specialist interest in heart rhythm disorders, cardiovascular disease prevention, and risk factor management, including high blood pressure (hypertension), high cholesterol, and strong family history of heart disease. He also investigates cardiac murmurs, causes of stroke, and performs pre-operative cardiac assessments.
Dr. Jogiya's NHS practice is grounded in a holistic, patient-centred approach. With extensive experience across high-performing cardiac centres including the Royal Brompton, Yale New Haven Hospital, Imperial NHS Trust, and St George's Hospital he brings a wealth of knowledge and perspective to each patient interaction.
He is the recipient of a National Clinical Impact Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the NHS. He was honoured as a Healthcare Pioneer at the Houses of Parliament for his work in cardiovascular disease prevention at the Health Innovation Network, where he serves as Clinical Director.
Dr. Jogiya is also the Chief Medical Advisor at Heart Research UK and sits on several national advisory panels, including NICE and the NHS Innovation Accelerator. .
In academia, Dr. Jogiya is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Jogiya graduated with Honours in Cardiovascular Science (BSc) and Medicine (MBBS) from Imperial College London. He holds a PhD in Cardiac MRI from King's College London, funded by a prestigious competitive British Heart Foundation Fellowship. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics, reflecting his commitment to ethical, high-quality care.
