Purpose of the role

As an integral part of the New Victoria Hospital executive management team, you will support the development of the Hospital’s overall strategy and be accountable for ensuring high standards of clinical excellence in all areas of the Hospital.  You will act as the Registered Manager for the Hospital, ensuring it meets the requirements under relevant legislation and regulated bodies.  You will deputise for the Chief Executive as and when required.  Clinical Services include nursing inpatients, theatres, imaging, physiotherapy, pharmacy and nursing outpatients.

 

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

 

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to);

  • To provide clear leadership and direction to all Clinical Head of Departments in-line with New Victoria Hospital’s culture and values.
  • Act as the designated Director responsible for Safeguarding, controlled drugs and the Caldicott guardian for the Hospital.
  • To share knowledge, expertise, best practice, and effective ways of working across the Hospital.
  • Support the Clinical Heads of Department with budget management and development of effective and safe clinical KPIs.
  • In conjunction with Integrated Governance & Risk Director ensure all clinical departments are compliant within the CQC and HSE regulatory frameworks and quality ensure standards.
  • In conjunction with the Medical Director ensure excellent governance standards are in place for Consultants in line with the Medical Practitioners Assurance Framework.
  • In conjunction with the Chief Executive & Integrated Governance & Risk Director ensure complaints are handled in-line with the Hospital Complaints Policy.

As Director of Clinical Services, you will need to have:

  • A professional registration as a Nurse
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a senior clinical role, ideally in an in-patient private hospital setting.
  • Significant, proven clinical leadership skills.
  • Postgraduate management qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Excellent financial & commercial acumen.
  • Project/change management experience.
