A flexible cystoscopy is a diagnostic procedure to examine the inside of your bladder using a flexible telescope (cystoscope).

It may be recommended if you are getting pain, blood in your urine, repeated infections, or you may have an irritable bladder (a sudden and uncontrolled urge to pass urine).

Flexible Cystoscopy Patient Leaflet (click to view). This leaflet link contains evidence-based information about your proposed urological procedure. The British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) has consulted specialist surgeons during its preparation, so that it represents best practice in UK urology. You should use it in addition to any advice already given to you.
